Festival Profile

  • The Tuggeranong Community Festival is a family orientated, not-for-profit and a free to the community event that engages people as audiences or participants, and enriches the culture of the community, it is staged in November of each year.
  • TuggFest has no paid positions. Voluntary Executive and Committee structures (organising committee) undertake the day to day organising, planning, media and liaison, co-ordination, and raising sponsorship.
  • The organising committee meets on a monthly basis to assess progress. Public meetings are held, on average, every second month.
  • The Executive comprises of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. There are approximately 9 Committee positions. Responsibilities and tasks are generally allocated depending on expertise and interest.

Festival Description

The Tuggeranong Festival’s motto is, ‘Bringing the Community Together’ relies on the support and participation of all sections of the community.

AIM

“Bringing the Community Together”

OBJECTIVE

Occasions for the Tuggeranong Community to celebrate its spirit, promote its multicultural diversity, and showcase its artistic, civic, cultural and sporting achievements.

OUTCOMES

  • To provide a non-profit and free to the community event.
  • To recognise local citizens who have made valuable contributions to our community.
  • To develop beneficial partnerships between the organising committee and the sponsors of TuggFest.
  • To provide an opportunity for the Tuggeranong community to be involved in sporting, artistic, civic and cultural activities and to develop their potential.
  • To provide free concerts (children’s and main) and other quality events to the Tuggeranong community, including a free fishing competition and fireworks spectacular.

AUDIENCE

The Tuggeranong community, approximately 100,000 residents.
